Looking after fine jewelry
A little care keeps metals bright and stones clear. Three habits make most of the difference:
Last on, first off
Put jewelry on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take it off before swimming, exercise or housework.
Store pieces apart
Give each piece its own pouch or compartment so harder stones and metals cannot scratch softer ones.
Clean gently
Lukewarm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft cloth suit most pieces. Dry thoroughly before putting them away.
